Epson's new 16-bit microcontroller features small size and low power consumption equivalent to an 8-bit microcontroller, even with the 16MB address space.
The S1C17 family of original 16-bit microcontrollers integrate a wide variety of interfaces, allowing connection with multiple sensors and a wealth of peripheral circuits such as an EPD driver,LCD controller and driver supporting low to medium-level resolutions.
The S1C17 family microcontroller has RISC architecture to achieve high-speed operation and low power consumption, making it ideal for mobile devices. The family includes a rich lineup of built-in Flash ROM products.
The high quality development environment and on-chip ICE function also contribute to shorten design turnaround time.

16-bit Microcontrollers Lineup
S1C17W00series
The S1C17W00 series is an ultra-low power consumption microcontroller with Flash memory. It can operate from 1.2V. The embedded highly efficient DC-DC converter generates an internal constant voltage, to drive IC with lower power consumption than 4-bit microcontroller. This series implements a built-in RTC, LCD driver, high-performance PWM and improved analog functions. It's suitable for battery driven applications.

S1C17M00 series
The S1C17M00 series is an application specialized microcontoller. It can realize high speed processing at low power consumption with operating from 1.8V to 5.5V. *3

The S1C17F00series is microcontroller featuring EPD passive panel segment driver, - and temperature detection circuit. The S1D14F00series is low power consumption driver IC with expandability of segment display capacity. It is suitable for portable device with EPD such as smart card.
