Introduction of the Case
In Utrecht, residents were invited to help shape how the city would celebrate New Year's Eve. As a result, the city chose to ban traditional fireworks in favor of a "light route" that illuminated 13 locations across Utrecht. Iconic buildings were transformed into canvases for stunning light art projections and interactive installations, creating a citywide experience that people could enjoy while walking or cycling through the area.
Koen van Rossum, Project Manager at the Municipality of Utrecht, shares insights into the LichtRoute project, while Jan Willem Campmans from the Light Up Collective explains why they selected Epson technology for the installations.
