Introduction of the Case

Mythos Mozart is a 1,500m² installation which offers a multimedia encounter with Mozart, presenting his life and works. Enchanted by the sounds of Mozart, visitors are immersed in visually captivating moments, such as a 360-degree panorama of Vienna or an animated balloon flight. The artists involved in the project rely on Epson installation projectors, which produce flicker-free, high-resolution, colourful images.

Decision Factor

  1. 1) Zero-offset ultra-short throw lenses were required due to the short distance to the projection surface and the low ceiling height.
  2. 2) 3LCD due to the required colour fidelity.
  3. 3) High reliability because the technology is in use 7 days a week.
  4. 4) Low fan noise because the music is in the foreground.
  5. 5) High-resolution display of the projection.

Installation

A mix of fixed and interchangeable lens Epson projectors were used to fit the unique requirements of the installation. Ultra-short throw lenses provide floor-to-ceiling projection while remaining discreetly installed at ceiling height, thanks to their zero-offset. For more complex rooms, specialized projection mirrors are used to project content onto the floor due to space limitations in the ceiling.
