Introduction of the Support System
Introduction of the Case
Matsumoto Castle Projection Mapping used ten EB-PU2220B high brightness projectors and projected a range of digital art featuring Japan's beauty, history and culture onto the national treasure Matsumoto Castle for two months from December 2023 to February 2024.
Epson's spectacular projection mapping attracted many visitors, with over 150,000 people attending over the two-month period, far exceeding expectations.
Decision Factor
Matsumoto City, the organizer of the projection mapping event, chose Epson because they were attracted by the proposal to use ten projectors to stage the entire castle park and the support system to ensure stable operation of the long two-month event.
Installation
The ten EB-PU2220B high brightness projectors shone vivid images across the entirety of Matsumoto Castle. For the keep, two units each were stacked for the top, lower left, and lower right. This provided six projectors to display vivid content with an output equivalent to 120,000 lumens.
In addition, Epson Projector Management Connected software was introduced to remotely monitor the status of the projectors, enabling to create an efficient and stable support system even without a service engineer onsite.
