Introduction of the Case

Ferry Sunflower Limited has two vessels in service in 2023, the Sunflower Kurenai and Murasaki. Projection mapping plays a role as the one of an entartainment on board and the images projected by Epson projectors entertain passengers and give them an extraordinary experience.

Decision Factor

Zero-offset lens enables a single projector to project a bright image on a large ceiling in a vessel with limited space. Projectors also allow images to be projected without disturbing the onboard design. Another advantage was the relatively low power consumption for the size and brightness of the screen.

Installation

An EB-L30000U with a zero offset lens has been installed on the wall and is used to project images onto the ceiling of the atrium in special enclosure to withstand the screen shaking caused by projection on board. An EB-L1755U with a short-throw lens has been also installed in an enclosure that matches the ship's interior. In both installations, the short throw lenses have enabled more efficient use of space.
