Introduction of the Case
Federation University is a multi-campus institution with locations across Australia, supporting a wide range of learning, meeting, and hybrid environments. Compared with other display technologies, Epson projectors were selected for their ability to deliver large, flexible image sizes, high brightness, and cost-effective performance.
Decision Factor
Federation University compared projectors and flat-panel displays to determine which would work best in its classrooms. After testing both options, the university chose Epson projectors because users found them more comfortable to use and felt that the larger projected images were easier to see and made a greater impact. Another key advantage was flexibility. With projectors, the image size can be adjusted based on the audience size and the type of content being shown, while flat-panel displays have a fixed screen size. The university also found Epson projectors to be a cost-effective solution that was easier to install across multiple classrooms.
Installation
Each classroom is equipped with one ceiling-mounted projector that serves as the main display. The image is projected onto a retractable drop-down screen, keeping the screen out of the way when not in use while making it easy to use when needed. The projector is installed in the center of the room and projects directly onto the screen, allowing everyone in the audience to clearly see and focus on the content.
