- TOKYO, Japan, October 3, 2011 -

Epson today announced that five design categories of inkjet printers and projectors have been recognized in the 2011 Japanese Good Design Awards for their lifestyle enriching design. The products that received awards were as follows:

Multifunction inkjet printers

PX-673F (Epson Stylus Office BX925FWD in overseas markets)
PX-603F (Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD)

Judges' comments: With these products Epson has solved the issues of component style, front access and quick use from the development stage. We believe these products superbly promote the advantages of inkjet printers in enterprise. The design of the document feeder, the materials and the changes in texture make for a well-rounded design.

Inkjet printer

PX-5V (Epson Stylus Photo R3000 in overseas markets)

Judges' comments: This printer has an easy-to-use exterior and a charming design. The well-rounded design is perfectly matched to professional photographers and photo lovers, who are the target users. The size of the printer has allowed Epson to include high-capacity ink cartridges, which recognize the frequency with which the target customers use the product. We also appreciate the easy-to-access front-loading paper tray and the easy-to-use front operation panel. By making the top of the printer completely flat, and by fully analyzing users' actions throughout the whole printing process, Epson's design has solved any issues users may have.

Multifunction inkjet printer

EP-904A (Epson Stylus Photo PX830FWD)

Judges' comments: This model has an attractive design for a home multifunction inkjet printer. The shape of the foldaway automatic document feeder is especially beautiful, and the automatic open front cover and intuitive LED usage navigation guide exhibit detailed attention to users' needs. The beautiful design product provides an overall sense of class, and we have recognized this product as offering a new concept in design for home inkjet printers.
* The international model includes a fax function.

EH-TW6000/ EH-TW6000W (EH-TW6000)

Judges' comments: This 3D-ready product includes built-in stereo speakers, and allows users to enjoy movies on a standalone basis, or sports. The lens placed in the center gives the product a sense of symmetry, and the beautiful finish would add to the atmosphere of any interior. The operation panel and the interface are intuitive, ensuring that anyone can set up this projector and enjoy home theater without any specialist knowledge.

Home cinema projector

EH-TW8000/ EH-TW 8000W (EH-TW8000)

As a high-end model, this product has been designed with the lens in the center and styled with the same concept of symmetry. However, the black sections create a distinction with other models in the series. The built-in automatic lens shutter that protects the lens from house dust shows a concern for users.

Based on its state-of-the-art technologies, Epson's aim is to design products that will improve both the lifestyles and work processes of its customers. Going forward, Epson will continue to refine its technologies and designs as it seeks to create and design products that exceed the expectations of its customers.
