Tohoku Epson to Announce Change of Executive Personnel

– TOKYO, Japan, March 17, 2011 –

At a meeting of its board of directors on March 16, Seiko Epson Corporation ("Epson," TSE: 6724) proposed the following executive personnel changes for subsidiary company Tohoku Epson Corporation.
The changes will be formally approved at Tohoku Epson's extraordinary meeting of shareholders and board meeting scheduled for April 1.

Executive personnel changes

1. Appointment

New director: Akihiko Sakai
Previous positions: executive officer, Seiko Epson Corporation; deputy chief operating officer, Imaging Products Operations Segment; and general administrative manager, Imaging Products Business Planning & Management Office
Date of planned appointment: April 1, 2011
Sakai is expected to be appointed president at the same time.

2. Retirement

Retiring director: Ryuhei Miyagawa
Previous position: president, Tohoku Epson Corporation
Continuing positions: executive officer, Seiko Epson Corporation; deputy chief operating officer, Microdevices Operations Division; and senior general manager, Sensing System Business Unit
New position: senior general manager, Imaging Interface Business Unit
Date of planned retirement: April 1, 2011
