Printing photos at home

Opened the door to color photo printing at home

Photos. Web content. Myriad documents and materials. No longer reliant on a printing service, today you can produce fantastic, photo-quality color prints at home or the office. And Epson is a major reason why.

Epson first gained worldwide recognition for consumer printers in 1994, with the launch of the Epson Stylus CLR color printer. The Epson Stylus CLR transformed the printing landscape. It provided stunning color images at 720-dpi resolution yet sold for what was at the time an extremely reasonable price. Whereas inkjet printers were used almost exclusively for printing text and drawings, this new color inkjet printer produced richly detailed, photo-quality prints, instantly ushering in a new era in color printing.

The stream of people turning to home photo printing became a torrent in 1996, as the launch of the Epson Stylus Photo (PM-700C) opened the floodgates. Offering fast print speeds and quality outstripping even that of traditional photo prints, this inkjet printer was critically acclaimed by professional photographers and reviewers, and proved to be a huge hit with consumers.
