And Epson, the first company to eliminate CFCs from its manufacturing operations, will conduct a variety of programs to keep it among the environmental leaders.

2008	Established "Environmental Vision 2050".
2007	Estabilished policy for paper products procurement.
	Genuine inkjet photo matte papers received FSC(COC) certification.
	Posted the Epson Method ver.2 a simple measuring method for PFCs.
2006	Switched to environmentally-conscious standardized packaging for LFP ink cartridges.
2006	Epson Korea Co., Ltd. received the energy conservation awards.
2005	Completed introducing the Chemical Substances Management System (E-Chem) in all manufacturing sites globally.
	Printers made outside of China received "China Energy Conservation Product Certification" for the first time in industry.
	Epson Hong Kong Ltd. awarded "Hong Kong Green Label."
2004	12 overseas manufacturing plants achieved Zero Emissions Level 1.
2004	Improved the Epson Ecology Label.
2003	Began recovery/recycling of used products in U.S.
	Achieved industry-first closed recycling of fluorinated acid solution.
	Announced program to eliminate RoHS directive chemicals.
2002	Epson El Paso Inc. (U.S.A.) and Epson de Juarez, S.A. de C.V. (Mexico) obtained Clean Industry Certification.
2002	19 plants in Japan achieved Zero Emissions Level 1.
2001	ISO 14001 Certification activities at all Epson business establishments completed.
	Implemented Epson Ecology Label program as a Voluntary Environmental Labeling.
	Operations divisions implemented reduction process for chemical substances based on Chemical Substance Hazard Evaluation Guidelines.
	Began recovery/recycling of used products in Taiwan.
	State-of-the-art energy-saving plant built in Toyoshina Plant.
	Epson Portland Inc. (U.S.A.) received "Green Permit" for its green management system.
	Concluded the consignment contract of using wind power generation for 15 years with Japan Natural Energy Co. Ltd.,.
2000	Built industry-first technology to reproduce phosphoric acid.
1999	Revised the Environmental Philosophy.
	Began activities to eliminate lead from soldering.
	Began recovery/recycling of printer ink cartridges in Japan.
	Began recovery/recycling of used products in Europe.
1998	Second environmental benchmark year; Established General Environmental Policy.
	Established Epson Recycling Center as a testing ground for new recycling methods in Japan.
	Achieved elimination of chlorinated solvent.
1997	Introduced new energy cogeneration system.
1997	Received the Best-of-the-Best Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
1995	Began recovery/recycling of used toner cartridges in Japan.
1994	Estabilished Environmental Philosophy and Environmental Policy.
1993	Practiced international support activity to eliminate substances which harm the ozone layer through government and other organizations.
	Completed elimination of specific CFCs from all cleaning processes globally.
	Achieved complete elimination of 1,1,1-trichloroethane.
	Began activities for complete elimination of three chlorine-based organic solvents (trichloroethylene, methylene chloride and tetrachloroethylene).
	EDG began recovery activity of ink and used cartridges and also conducted refilling ink.
1992	Began activities for complete elimination of 1,1,1-trichloroethane.
	Completed elimination of specific CFCs from cleaning processes in domestic production.
	Received the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award from the US Environmental Protection Agency.
